Marketing Committee | Social Media Manager

Job Purpose:

This position will be responsible for consistently informing the general membership of the Ted Rogers School of Management and beyond of TRSS related (Student Groups included) initiatives and events, through social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.


  • Up-to-date and knowledgeable of all organizational events and initiatives
  • Daily communication with Vice President of Events, Marketing, Street Team Pilots
  • Meet quota of tweets per day as assigned by Vice President of Marketing on behalf of the organization
  • Create Metrics (semi-annual reporting of social media activity)
  • Management of HootSuite to create media consistency
  • Build consistent TRSS brand on Social Media
  • Responsible for informing and communicating with externals via face-to-face interaction and social media
  • Maintenance and up-keeping of the TRSS website and TRSS rebrand
  • Work with Board of Directors and TRSS ad hoc committees to update general membership via social networking media (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.)
  • Keep track of webhosting and domain registration

Minimum Time Commitment: 5 hours per week


  • Previous social media management experience
  • Actively involved in TRSM and Ryerson University student life
  • Creative and up-to-date with current social media trends
  • Building and maintaining the image of the TRSS via social media
  • Able to create an engaging, fun and professional representation of the TRSS
