Events Committee | Communication Manager

Job Purpose:

The Communication Manager of the Events Committee (EC) will act as the liaison for all communication between the TRSS Events Committee. The committee shall plan, develop, and implement all events for the TRSS and will assist in organizing any ad-hoc events projects as directed by the Board of Directors. All projects managed by the Events Committee will align with the 3 TRSS pillars of “academic, professional, and social.”

Duties:

  • The Communication Manager will assist the Marketing Social Media Manager with the following:
    • Facebook Media – includes photo management, communications, promotions, answering questions, etc. during the entire term
    • Twitter Media – Includes answering questions, tweeting, etc. during Frosh Week
  • Email – students and student group communication
  • Minute taking at all Events Committee meetings
  • Room booking & other admin tasks
  • Communication, and scheduling of meetings with VP Events & Events Committee
  • Creation of binders outlining details for each event hosted by the Events Committee

Minimum Time Commitment: 5 hours per week

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience with social media management
  • Have the ability to multi-task
  • Are organized, reliable, and able to work independently and in a team
  • Can think and react quickly
  • Self-motivated
  • Have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Presentation skills
  • Creativity and design skills are an asset
